Independence Contract Drilling

Ed Jacob is Director, President and Chief Operating Officer of Independence Contract Drilling (ICD). Mr Jacob joined ICD in February 2013 and was promoted to his current position in May 2014. Prior to joining ICD, Mr Jacob was President and CEO of Keen Energy Services. Prior to that, he worked for Grey Wolf, Bayard Drilling Technologies, Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Co and National Supply Co, in a career spanning more than 40 years.
Mr Jacob attended Southeastern Louisiana University and Nichols State University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Rowan Companies

Dr Thomas Burke was appointed Chief Executive Officer and elected a Director of Rowan Companies in April 2014. He served as Chief Operating Officer beginning in July 2011 and was appointed President in March 2013. Dr Burke joined the company in December 2009, serving as Chief Executive Officer and President of LeTourneau Technologies until the sale of LeTourneau in June 2011. From 2006 to 2009, Dr Burke was a Division President at Complete Production Services, an oilfield services company, and from 2004 to 2006, served as its Vice President for Corporate Development. Prior to that, he worked at McKinsey & Company and Schlumberger.

Dr Burke received a PhD in Engineering from Trinity College, the University of Oxford, a Bachelors in Engineering with honors from the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where we was awarded a Baker Scholarship.

Sevan Drilling

Scott McReaken was named Chief Executive Officer of Sevan Drilling in November 2013. He joined Sevan after serving as the Director of Finance for Seadrill’s Americas region since July 2012. Before joining Seadrill, he was the Director Financial Planning and Analysis at Vantage Drilling from March 2010 to July 2012.

He also held various management positions in accounting at Pride International in its Houston and Angola locations from 2005 to 2010.

Prior to working in the contract drilling industry, Mr McReaken spent five years providing audit, assurance and advisory services as an Internal Auditor and at Arthur Andersen.

Mr McReaken holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.

 

Lyndol-Dew-copyLyndol Dew, Vice President – Offshore Division
Diamond Offshore Drilling

Lyndol Dew is the Senior Vice President Worldwide Operations for Diamond Offshore Drilling. He graduated from Florida State University in 1976 and received his Master of Engineering from Tulane University in 1982. Mr Dew served in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer for six years. He has subsequently worked in various domestic and international positions for Diamond Offshore, on rigs and shore based, for the past 32 years.

Patterson-UTI Drilling

Mike Garvin is Senior Vice President, Operations Support at Patterson-UTI Drilling, a subsidiary of Patterson-UTI. Prior to joining Patterson-UTI, Mr Garvin spent three years with Ensco as a Senior Deepwater Operations Manager. Prior to that, Mr Garvin spent 27 years with GlobalSantaFe and its predecessor and successor companies (Global Marine and Transocean), holding various operations and support leadership positions.

Mr Garvin earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from California Polytechnic State University. He has accumulated a total of 36 years of experience in the upstream sector of the energy business, exploring and drilling for oil, gas and geothermal energy on land and offshore on six continents.

National Oilwell Varco

David Reid is Senior Vice President, Global Accounts and Chief Sales Officer at National Oilwell Varco (NOV).

Mr Reid joined Varco more than 20 years ago. He began in the service end of the business and has lived in Scotland, California and Houston while working worldwide in roles covering business development, product development, leadership and management.

He has provided key contributions to the development of today’s top drives, pipe handling, Iron Roughnecks, blowout preventers, integrated drilling systems and automation. He has led the introduction of modern drilling system design in offshore drilling rigs and has had an active role in the industry as a voice in addressing change in design, as well as business models.

Mr Reid serves on the NOV and Schlumberger IntelliServ Joint Venture Board and as Chairman of the IADC Advanced Rig Technology Committee and is a founding member of the SPE Drilling Systems Automation Technical Section.

 

SColville-copyStephen Colville, IADC President & CEO

Stephen Colville, President and CEO of IADC, has more than 30 years of experience in corporate public affairs and government relations, with extensive experience in North and South America, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia and Asia Pacific. He joined IADC as President and CEO in 2012.
Mr Colville previously served as VP-Communications for Royal Dutch Shell – Projects & Technology Business, a position he held since August 2009. He moved to that position after serving as VP-Communications – Global Gas Business for Royal Dutch Shell and had joined the company in December 2006 in that position.

Prior to Shell, Mr Colville served in various management-level policy, government and public affairs positions for Chevron, which he joined in 1997.

Mr Colville began his career in the UK Department of Trade and Industry in 1979, working in key policy divisions on trade regulations, competition regulation and project management.
He is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators.
