BHGE introduces low-pressure-impact drilling fluid

In challenging wells with narrow operating windows, using a fluid with low equivalent circulating density (ECD) typically only mitigates some of the risks but doesn’t reliably meet all drilling objectives. Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE), has launched the Delta-TEQ, a drilling fluid that the company says was designed to have low pressure impact, which helps to extend narrow windows. In this video with DC on 6 May at the 2019 OTC, Brian Teutsch, Product Management Leader for BHGE, talks about the fluid’s advanced non-aqueous formulation and explains how it was used for better hole cleaning in a deviated borehole in the Gulf of Mexico. Watch the video to find out more.
