IADC Houston Chapter performs service through charities, scholarships

The IADC Houston Chapter has donated nearly $1.65 million to various charities and scholarships since 2003, enabled by various chapter events such as the annual golf tournament, dinner/dance and auction, and sporting clay shoot. To nurture the industry’s next-generation talent, the chapter is launching a new pilot scholarship program next year for students in non-engineering disciplines who have an interest in joining the oil and gas industry. This will be in addition to the scholarships that the chapter already funds for engineering students. In this video from the 2015 IADC Drilling Onshore Conference on 14 May in Houston, Jeff Kessler, Chairman of the IADC Houston Chapter and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blake International Rigs, talks with DC’s Alex Endress about the chapter’s outlets for service and discusses goals for the coming year.
