Using both surface seismic and logging-while-drilling data, Schlumberger’s Seismic Guided Drilling (SGD) provides a 3D look-ahead velocity model and reduces drilling uncertainty. In this exclusive video from the 2014 OTC exhibit floor, Andy Hawthorn, Seismic Guided Drilling Manager, speaks with DC associate editor Joanne Liou about how SGD enables proactive drilling decisions, particularly in challenging and deepwater exploration environments. SGD, which received an OTC Spotlight on New Technology Award last week, has been deployed around the world onshore and offshore.
