Following secretarial orders from Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and executive orders from President Donald Trump, the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is in the midst of rolling back regulations that negatively impact oil and gas drilling. In this video from the 2018 IADC Drilling Onshore Conference on 17 May in Houston, Sheila Mallory, Deputy State Director, Minerals for the BLM, discusses the agency’s priorities for the near term, including improving processing time of drilling permit applications on BLM lands. She also explains BLM’s plans to replace the Waste Prevention Rule governing methane emissions.
