As the drilling industry’s aging workforce continues to retire, a new generation of employees is needed to fill vital roles. To address this challenge, IADC’s Workforce Attraction and Development Initiative (WADI) is putting community colleges together with industry resources to help develop fresh talent for the drilling industry. Rowan Companies Global Training Manager JP Mook, who has been actively involved with WADI, spoke with DC Editorial Coordinator Alex Endress at the 2015 IADC HSE&T Conference in Houston on 3 February about the value of WADI and why the industry should hire graduates from participating community colleges. Watch the video to see how educational institutions are working with oil and gas leaders to “create a program that will stand the test of time.”
