Rowan is first to achieve full IADC Competence Assurance accreditation

When conditional accreditation was granted to Rowan in February 2008, IADC documented minor program non-conformities to be addressed before full accreditation could be granted. Program modifications were then made by Rowan and verified by IADC in follow-up site visits conducted in October and November 2008. Full accreditation was issued on 10 November 2008.

Rowan’s Competence Assurance accreditation applies to 16 rig positions and the personnel holding these positions who work in northern European waters. Positions accredited are roustabout, floorman, derrickman, crane operator, assistant driller, driller, tourpusher, offshore installation manager, materialsman, barge engineer, motorman, mechanic, electrician, welder, radio operator and medic.

IADC Competence Assurance accreditation assures that training programs meet accepted practices to develop and ensure the skills of their personnel.
