The US rig count has fallen substantially this week, dropping from 928 to 913, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count. The decrease came entirely from onshore, as US drillers idled 15 land rigs. There are now 892 rigs drilling on land and 20 offshore.
Of the total US rigs, 736 are drilling for oil and 177 for gas.
