Siemens Energy delivers energy storage solution for Maersk Drilling jackups

Two CJ70 jackup rigs – the Maersk Intrepid and Maersk Integrator – retrofitted with BlueVault batteries from Siemens Energy have seen a 25% emissions reductions compared with their baseline levels. They are the first jackups to employ a combination of hybrid, low-emission solutions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Kongsberg, NOV, COSL partner to reduce emissions on offshore rigs

COSL said its Energy Control project was designed to simultaneously slash greenhouse gas emissions and lower fuel and maintenance overheads on the company’s rigs situated on the Norwegian shelf in the North Sea. The companies estimate that fuel consumption from COSL's semisubmersibles COSLPromoter and COSLInnovator will be reduced by around 2,300 tonnes/year and CO2 emissions by 7,300 tonnes/year, equating to an overall saving in fuel and emissions of more than 25%.

Odfjell Drilling, Siemens Energy partner to install systems on semisubmersibles for emissions reduction

Odfjell said the Siemens BlueDrive DC Grid technology will help operators meet their long-term emission reduction targets. The upgrades will be carried out on Deepsea Atlantic and Deepsea Nordkapp, with the opportunity to include Deepsea Stavanger, Deepsea Aberdeen, and Deepsea Yantai at a later stage.
