Borr Drilling deploys IFS applications in record time

IFS has announced that international offshore drilling contractor Borr Drilling has deployed IFS Applications to improve operations and optimize its IT landscape. The go-live is part of an implementation that will see IFS Applications rolled out to 10 oil rigs and over 1,000 users by January 2019.

Borr Drilling is an international drilling contractor with a fleet of 36 rigs, nine of which are currently under construction. To support its goal of becoming the world’s leading provider of jackup drills and drilling services, and to strengthen the efficiency of its international operations, Borr decided to replace its incumbent business systems.

With rapid implementation as a key priority, the company chose IFS Applications. The IFS solution supports mission-critical business processes including enterprise asset management (EAM), onshore-offshore data replication, supply chain management, financials, and document management.

Comprehensive, on-demand insight into the condition of the platform is of critical importance when drilling for oil and gas. Maintenance is also a high priority for rig operators as it is an important contributor to cost savings and smoother operations. IFS Applications will ensure that all critical assets will be continuously monitored, enabling the company to predict malfunctions or decreases in performance before any incidents occur. The solution lets Borr manage mission-critical maintenance, certificates, supply chain, and finance quicker and more efficiently.

“We are committed to helping Borr achieve its goal of becoming the leading offshore drilling company,” Elni Kullmer, head of IFS in Scandinavia, said. “The success of this project is due to the efforts of a seasoned team of experts with long experience in delivering solutions to some of the world’s leading oil and gas companies. Our experience and efficient implementation methodology is why Borr came to us and how we were able to meet their expectations. We are excited to continue our work with Borr and look forward to expanding our collaboration.”

For more than 20 years, IFS has been working with large offshore mobile asset owners including Maersk Drilling, Rowan Companies, Odfjell Drilling, Aro Drilling, BW Offshore, Borr Drilling, Floatel International, Transocean, Maersk Supply Service, PGS, Mermaid Marine, and Yinson Berhad.
