IADC Maintenance Committee continues OEM partnerships, lays out 2016 goals

The IADC Maintenance Committee has already realized benefits from the OEM partnership with National Oilwell Varco that kicked off in 2014, which added another industry affiliation on top of an existing partnership with Caterpillar. Both partnerships have assisted the committee in devising solutions to current industry challenges. These include maintaining assets in a down market, ensuring maintenance techniques are aligned with regulator standards and preserving stacked rigs, Committee Chairman Frank Breland said at the 2015 IADC Asset Integrity and Reliability Conference in Houston on 16 September. Mr Breland, who serves as Manager of Planned Maintenance at Diamond Offshore, said the IADC committee plans to begin additional OEM partnerships in 2016 and to strengthen relationships with international IADC chapters, as well as IADC’s Supply Chain and Advance Rig Technology committees.
