Earlier this year, Sir Ian Wood released a report on maximizing recovery from the UK Continental Shelf and recommended a new independent regulator to focus more on licensing, supervision and stewardship and less on bureaucracy. David Leckie, Partner at Clyde & Co, discussed the significance of the report, as well as the EU Offshore Safety Directive, at the 2014 Contracts and Risk Management Conference in Houston on 14 October.
